Student Privacy - Connected14

Written by David on July 18th, 2014.      0 comments

My second session today covered the vexed issue of student privacy.  It is easy to be dismissed as a fully paid up member of the foil hat wearing conspiracy brigade when you question the shiny baubles offered to us by the Internet giants.  But I want teachers to consider their moral responsibility to minimise the digital tattoo, not footprints, they are creating for and on behalf of the students in their care.

My presentation is below, but please feel free to join this conversation, because it is one I feel that we need to have.  I think we can use the free tools of the Internet on our own terms to maximise the learning potential they offer, whilst at the same time being smart about what personal information our students offer in return.  If you would like me to run a session with your team covering these issues, please contact me.
